  • Campaign Update

    Friends,

We have been on an incredible journey. Since we began our campaign in early April, we have been seen by more than two million pairs of eyeballs, shared hundreds upon hundreds of times across Alberta, featured proud Canadians and highlighted campaigns both large and small.

It has been a fantastic effort.

However, our team has something to share with you.

At the beginning there were zero Third Party Advertisers registered for the Stay team.

    Now there are five.

In a moment where we sought leaders and campaigns to stand up, those leaders from across the political spectrum and in every community have stood up to oppose separatism and blowing up our country.

Our committee has reviewed our stated goal: of uplifting leaders and their communities, sharing their words… and found that these leaders are now loudly being heard across Alberta. In light of this we are choosing to bring our various team members into those organizations and teams, and deregistering with Elections Alberta.

Now our campaign asks the following of you:

    1. Vote. Vote like Canada depends on it, because it does. Vote against the awful nine as well.
    2. Engage. Pick a campaign, back it and mobilize your friends, family, colleagues and neighbours to vote.
    3. Never stop. Continue your involvement well after this election, as your inclusion makes our shared civic life so much brighter.

Our campaign site lists the campaigns on our website. We encourage you to take a look, and pick your preferred person, platform or party. Or all of them. But make a choice, have your voice heard and stand for a better country for all of our fellow citizens.

In the comments and replies on our social media (linked below), please share what campaigns you’ll be supporting in the weeks ahead.

    Sincerely yours,
    The United For Canada Team

  • How To Vote

Alberta’s provincial referendum is scheduled for October 19, 2026, where voters will be asked to weigh in on ten questions spanning immigration, constitutional reform, and splitting up the country.

    • We’re asking Albertans to vote Remain (Option 1) and to vote No on the nine awful questions. Learn more about why here.

To participate, you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years of age, and ordinarily resident in Alberta on polling day.

When heading out to vote, you will encounter a unique ballot structure because each of the ten questions will be presented on its own separate, colour-coded and numbered ballot. Voters must show accepted identification proving their identity and physical address, such as a government-issued photo ID or two pieces of approved identification, unless voting under specific exempted circumstances like mobile voting in designated facilities.

There are more than 50 forms of identification you can use to vote. You can look at the different options here (the person writing this blog post has previously voted in past elections using his recent electricity bill paired with his apartment lease).

While traditional in-person options are available—including advance voting from October 13 to October 17 and traditional voting stations open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day—voters are strongly encouraged to utilize special ballots (voting by mail). Opting for a special ballot is a highly convenient choice that eliminates the hassle of navigating long queues, fitting specific polling hours into your schedule, or worrying about travel disruptions.

Applying for a special ballot is straightforward and accessible to all eligible electors without requiring an excuse.

You can easily request your mail-in package online by visiting elections.ab.ca, emailing the office directly, or contacting your local electoral division’s returning office. Applications to vote by mail remain open until October 9, 2026, though submitting your request early ensures your package arrives with ample time to complete the process.

Once your special ballot package arrives, you can mark your choices privately at home and complete the required signed declaration with your identification. It is vital to remember that completed special ballot packages must be received by Elections Alberta via mail before 5:00 p.m. on October 16, 2026 (note that returning offices cannot accept drop-offs). Using this secure method guarantees your participation even if you cannot make it to a physical polling station.

  • Update: Taking on Separation

    Vincent here.

I wanted to share an update on the campaign – particularly on the separation question and the awful nine questions that are being put in front of Albertans on the 19th of October. I’m asking that my friends, neighbours and province vote Remain and to reject the simply awful set of nine questions put together by the politicians over in our legislature.

Firstly, a group of friends and I started a Third Party Advertiser, after circulating memes on the referendum on a social media project for a few months. In July we registered with Elections Alberta, set up a bank account (that was my Monday this week – at a bank, figuring stuff out), and have been getting things together.

    It’s called United for Canada.

As part of our campaign, we had a booth on Canada Day, handed out small flags, were seen over 700,000+ times across our social media channels, and put some 350 buttons onto folks for Stampede.

    Here are some photos:

Thank you, Steve, for taking the above photo.

We did a booth on Canada Day, hanging out on Centre Street here in Calgary, handing out small flags to kiddos and letting them play with our button maker.

They made some pretty cool buttons.

As for us, for Canada Day and later for Stampede, we made our own buttons, and I personally handed out over 200 at nine events across the first few days of the pancake season.

Got it. Thank you, @vsp.vincentstpierre.com. 🍁 Nice to see you. Happy Canada Day!

So, a good friend shared a few buttons from his days of politicking in Quebec. One of them was about the separation referendums that took place there. One design caught my eye, and now I've broken out the button machine… #NonMerci #Ableg #UnitedForCanada

I’m not sure that I can look at pancakes again after all of that (or, at least for another 340 days).

If you’re able or willing, we’re collecting donations to fund the campaign. Our disclosure deadline with Elections Alberta is tomorrow night, so if you make your donation before Thursday evening, I’ll be able to show those watching the referendum disclosures that we mean business!

Right now, if the numbers hold, we’ll be jumping ahead of 15-16 different Third Party Advertisers, and be ranked #4 amongst the Remain campaigns for contributions.

These disclosures are one way that the media, other donors and those seeking to have impact judge who they’ll be engaging with for coverage, support and advocacy in our political process.

So, if you can spare $10, consider making a donation to the cause.

Of course, as with every campaign I’m a part of – I’m pressing forward in levelling up the transparency of our democratic process with a contribution disclosure and expense disclosure page. With these pages, Albertans know exactly where their dollars are going when they contribute to this Third Party Advertiser, and who are backing our work as United for Canada.

Thanks for taking a moment to read this update from yours truly.

    Until next time,
    Vincent

    P.S.

Consider skipping the line to vote this October 19th – and get a special ballot to vote by mail. It’ll be how I’m voting, as I’ll be pitching in with folks to get as many Albertans to the polls as possible!

Thank you, Nabeel, for taking the above photo.
